Sew Days

I love getting together and sewing, whether teaching or just sewing with a friend, it brightens my day.  Grace wanted to get together with her friend Brandy, that had come with us to the Sewing Expo in Raleigh.  They thought they would get a start on Christmas projects, however they do sooooo much talking that they have only gotten a little done and I don't think it's been on a single Christmas project!  But Sew Days are more about enjoying the company than actually completing a project :).

Thursday's we have been having sew days at the Fisher House.  I need to get more pictures and not just of a project!  This was pot holder I made a few weeks back.  I was happy with myself for using the Stitch Creator on my Pfaff to create the steam effect for the coffee.  I used the middle design and just edited it a bit and whala!

If your in the area and want to sew something for the Fisher House, come join us on Thursdays!  You can contact me for any questions you may have.

This is some batiks I created at my sewing guild.  This process actually went a lot faster than I thought it would and we all had a good time chatting while waiting for the dye to take effect.  Because I was sitting there I played with mine and in the process making my dye too even on some of the fabrics.  My fellow guild members should have stopped me!  I'll have to tell them that next time they see me doing such a folly not to be afraid to speak up and correct me, lol.

Kathrine Stein of Designing Dragonflies is an excellent teacher and hopefully is publishing a book soon.  She does some amazing work and is well organized and thinks of all the little details!  Thanks Kathrine for a great class!

I will definitely get a few pictures of any future classes with Kathrine.
